The company began operations in 2006 and issued its first ticket through the portal in 2007 before expanding internationally to the UAE in 2011 and Naspers acquired a stake in 2012 and Brazil operations started in 2015 and the company reached 10,000 monthly transacting agents in 2017 and achieved US $1 billion annual GTV in 2018 and acquired Affirma to take over Naspers’ stake and acquired Island Hopper as its first acquisition in 2019.

2021: Launched Zamzam and Paxes; acquired Gemini Tours and Travels; launched Rail Europe and Marine businesses. 2022: acquired BookaBed AG; 2023: achieved US $10 million GTV in a single day, and General Atlantic invested; acquired Jumbonline S.L.U. 2024: listed on NSE and BSE. 2025: ~50,000 transacting agents, commercial presence in 55 countries, and migration to the new HNext platform.
