About the Company

JSW Energy Limited (JSW Energy) is the energy arm of the USD 23 billion JSW Group and has grown into a diversified independent power producer since commencing commercial operations in 2000. The company generates electricity across thermal, wind, solar and hydro, and is expanding into next-generation, dispatchable solutions such as battery energy storage and pumped hydro storage. It is also developing green hydrogen and its derivatives, integrating these innovations to support India’s energy security and decarbonisation goals.

JSW Energy operates a pan-India portfolio, with assets across states including Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The business also includes power trading (since 2006), a lignite mining joint venture in Rajasthan, and a transmission joint venture in Maharashtra. Overseas, the group has subsidiaries in Mauritius associated with coal resources and related logistics infrastructure.

A landmark in its growth story, JSW Energy crossed 10 GW of installed capacity in FY 2025, ending the year at 10,875 MW as of March 31, 2025; the locked-in platform now stands at about 30 GW under its Strategy 3.0 roadmap, which targets 30 GW of generation and 40 GWh of energy storage by FY 2030. The company reported hydro plants at Karcham Wangtoo and Baspa II delivering 5,862 MU of net generation in FY 2025, reflecting steady operations across its renewable base. As on March 31, 2025, JSW Energy had 124 subsidiaries (including 4 LLPs), one joint venture and two associate companies.
