About Nifty 50 Index

This index uses the free-float market capitalization methodology with periodic semi-annual rebalancing. The governance structure includes the Board of Directors of NSE Indices Limited, the Index Advisory Committee (Equity), and the Index Maintenance Sub-Committee. As of October 31, 2025, the index consists of 51 constituents, with calculation performed in real-time during market hours.

Nifty 50 Index Rebalancing

  • Minimum listing history of one month as of the cut-off date is required.

Calculation Method

The index is calculated using the free-float market capitalization weighted method, adjusted semi-annually for market data and corporate actions, with real-time updates during trading hours.
