What is Nifty Midcap Select Index?
The Nifty Midcap Select index consists of the top 25 midcap stocks from the private sector as well as the public sector. Stocks are selected based on their liquidity and availability for derivatives trading. The stock weightages are decided based on their market capitalisation. Stocks from Financial Services, Capital Goods, and Information Technology sectors make up a majority of the index. Indian Hotels Company Ltd, Persistent Systems Ltd and Lupin Ltd hold the highest weightage in the index.
