Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) is one of India’s largest private sector phosphatic fertiliser companies, producing a wide range of phosphatic grades including DAP, N-10, N-12, N-14, N-19, N-20 and N28. It operates two large manufacturing facilities at Paradeep, Odisha, and at Zuarinagar, Goa, with the Goa plant alone producing Urea. PPL’s current total capacity is 3 million MT, comprising 0.4 million MT of Urea and 2.6 million MT of phosphates . The company supplies fertilisers across more than 15 states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Bengal, UP, MP, AP, Telengana, Chattisgarh and MP, and also sells industrial products such as Gypsum, Zypmite, HFSA (Hydrofluorosilicic Acid), Sulphuric Acid and Ammonia.
PPL’s products are marketed under the “Jai Kisaan” and “Navratna” brands, which together carry over four decades of brand equity, and the company serves a customer base of over 9 million farmers across 15+ states . The company is promoted by Zuari Agro Chemicals and OCP Group of Morocco, which jointly hold 56.1% of PPL through Zuari Maroc Phosphates Pvt Ltd (ZMPPL).
Key milestones for the company include scaling manufacturing capacity to 3 million MT and building an extensive multi-state distribution footprint. The company has also pursued backward integration in phosphoric acid, with benefits beginning to materialise, supporting manufacturing and product mix initiatives.

PPL launched biogenic Nano DAP and Nano Urea under “Jai Kisaan Navratna Nano Shakti” and introduced TSP (Triple Super Phosphate) alongside new NPK grades like NPK-14 and NPK-19. During the quarter ended June 30, 2024, it sold ~30,000 bottles of Nano DAP and ~26,000 bottles of Nano Urea.
