AWL Agri Business Limited (formerly known as Adani Wilmar Limited) began in 1999 as a joint venture between the Adani Group and Wilmar International. Today, it operates a fully integrated, farm-to-fork agribusiness spanning sourcing, in-house processing, branding, and distribution of edible oils, foods, and industrial agri-derivatives.
In FY25, the Company unveiled a new corporate identity—AWL Agri Business Limited—while celebrating 25 years of its flagship brand, Fortune, which holds a 17.8% market share and is India’s leading edible oil brand. Its portfolio covers kitchen staples such as edible oils, wheat flour, rice, pulses (lentils), besan, and sugar, alongside agri-derived ingredients like oleochemicals and castor oil used across multiple industries.
AWL operates 24 owned factories and 52 leased units, including one of the country’s largest edible oil refineries at Mundra with a capacity of ~5,000 tonnes per day. It is also India’s largest importer of crude edible oil and a key player in lauric fat and castor oil production. Its distribution is national in scale, with presence across 28 states and 8 union territories, and sales in international markets. Exports accounted for 8% of overall sales in FY25. The Company’s brands reach 123 million Indian households—approximately one in three households in India use AWL’s food products.
Key brands include Fortune (flagship), Kohinoor, Kings, and, following a recent acquisition, “Tops” (sauces and pickles). AWL has also extended into home and personal care through oleochemical integration with products such as Alife soaps and Ozel multi-purpose cleaner.
