Rail Vikas Nigam Limited gave investors a reason to cheer as its share price climbed over 3% in early trades on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. This came right after the company announced a major order win worth ₹554 crores from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

RVNL shares opened at ₹341.95 per share on the BSE, marking a solid jump from the previous closing price of ₹330.80 per share. The stock continued to trade between ₹334.80 and ₹341.95 per share in the morning session, reflecting a positive buzz in the share market investment space.

What's the big order about?

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, after market hours, RVNL announced that it was the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant road project from NHAI. The project involves constructing a six-lane access-controlled connectivity to Visakhapatnam Port Road. It will link the Sabbavaram bypass of the Anakapalli – Anandapuram corridor to Sheela Nagar junction in Andhra Pradesh. The project will be carried out under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), with a total order value of ₹554.64 crores, excluding GST.

This latest order adds another feather to RVNL's cap, keeping the company in the spotlight for its growing presence in India's infrastructure development sector.

More wins for RVNL

RVNL has been on a roll with back-to-back order wins, making it a hot pick in share market investment circles. Earlier this month, on March 6, 2025, the company secured another big contract from South Western Railway.

This project involves designing, supplying, testing, and commissioning 2X25 KV Overhead Equipment (OHE) and Power Supply Installation (PSI) systems. It also includes electrical general services, engineering, and telecommunication works between Rayadurga and Topavagada of the TK-RDG section. The total project cost is pegged at ₹156.35 crores, including applicable taxes.

What's next for RVNL?

With a steady stream of new projects, RVNL continues to strengthen its position in India's growing infrastructure sector. Investors have been closely tracking the company's stock as it remains in the limelight with consistent order inflows.

As of March 12, 2025, at 11:10 AM, RVNL stock was trading at ₹331.65 per share. With this momentum, RVNL could continue to attract attention in the stock market, making it an interesting play for infrastructure-focused investors.
